Organised by the U.S. Greeting Card Association (GCA), the event took place on July 27 in Las Vegas and celebrated outstanding creativity and craftsmanship within the greeting card industry, with industry leaders, designers, and experts gathering to recognise innovation and excellence.

Officially known as the International Greeting Card Awards Competition, the Louies are named after Louis Prang, the German-born Boston lithographer credited with the birth of the U.S. Christmas card in the 1870s.
