Denby celebrates the release of ‘Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale’

Denby Pottery was surprised and delighted when Universal Pictures invited it to be a partner for the release of ‘Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale’, which is now in cinemas.

Denby selected its classic and timeless Imperial Blue pattern, which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year. The brand points out that during the 1930s (the reference period for the final instalment of the Downton Abbey series), you’d be sure to find Denby in the kitchens of great English country houses.

Predominantly in salt-glazed earthy tones, Denby caused quite the stir with the release of its Cottage Blue kitchen and tableware. Blue has connotations of nobility and refinement and inspired by Cottage Blue, Imperial Blue now carries the Denby classic mantel.

As the story of Downton Abbey evolves through social change, so too has Imperial Blue, combining history and modernity to suit consumer lifestyles. Still handcrafted in Derbyshire, Imperial Blue showcases the quality of British craftsmanship and is at the front-runner of the ‘buy well, buy once’ movement, with all the inherent qualities for which Denby is renowned

In celebration of ‘Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale’, Denby carried out a marketing campaign across all its social channels including a competition to win a luxury weekend in London, provided by Universal Pictures, along with a Denby Imperial Blue afternoon tea set.
