The Giftware Association welcomes new committee members

New GA members

The Giftware Association (The GA) is pleased to announce the appointment of four new committee members: Meg Hawkins, Demi Pendakis, Stephen Spencer, and Jackson Szabo.

The GA said that their combined experience in design, retail strategy, branding, manufacturing, and trade events will support the trade body as it strengthens its strategic direction for 2026.

These appointments follow the recent National Committee Strategy Day, during which The GA reaffirmed its focus on clearer communication, strengthened governance, improved member value, and a refreshed brand presence. The new committee members will play a key role in helping to deliver these priorities.

Gemma Sault, managing director of The Giftware Association, commented: “These new appointments come at a crucial time for The GA. Each member brings valuable insight and practical experience from across the sector. Their contribution will help strengthen our strategy, improve the support we offer, and ensure we remain a relevant and confident voice for the industry.”

Meg Hawkins is a British watercolour artist and the founder of Meg Hawkins Ltd, a growing giftware brand known for nature-inspired artwork across homeware, stationery and licensed collections. Her products are sold nationally and internationally. With experience in building a creative business, licensing, and product development, Meg brings practical insight into the needs of independent brands.

Demi Pendakis is the founder of F.Y.G, a luxury home fragrance brand focused on responsible sourcing and sensory-led design. With more than 20 years of experience in global retail and manufacturing, he has developed expertise in brand development, product innovation, and supply chain management. Demi will support members looking to grow sustainably and strengthen their market presence.

Stephen Spencer is the founder of Stephen Spencer + Associates. An established consultant in customer experience and retail strategy, he advises retailers, heritage destinations, and cultural organisations on creating effective visitor and commercial experiences. His knowledge of retail environments and consumer behaviour will support The GA’s work in member engagement and commercial development.

Jackson Szabo is a portfolio director of Hyve Group, overseeing Spring Fair and Autumn Fair. His role provides a broad view of retail trends, supplier relationships, and event strategy. Jackson’s insight will help The GA deepen its industry connections and support businesses across the trade network.

The addition of these four committee members reinforces The GA’s renewed focus on governance, member value, communication and industry collaboration. Their expertise will support initiatives including enhanced member resources, updated digital platforms, clearer benefits, expanded networking opportunities, and strengthened representation for the sector.
