Hop into Easter with new Love Your High Street campaign

Bira "Love your high street"

Independent retailers are being urged to showcase their Easter offerings as part of the British Independent Retailers Association (Bira)’s latest “Love Your High Street” campaign, designed to drive footfall during one of the year’s key seasonal trading periods.

The Easter campaign is the latest in a series of themed initiatives tied to key seasonal occasions throughout 2026, following successful Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day campaigns. The aim is simple: when shoppers are looking for gifts or seasonal treats, they instinctively check their local high street first.

Bira CEO Andrew Goodacre said: “Easter is a wonderful opportunity for shoppers to discover the unique products and personal service that independent retailers offer. Our high streets are filled with businesses that bring character and creativity to their communities, but they need our support to thrive.

“We’re encouraging retailers to get involved by sharing their Easter promotions, displays, and product ideas on social media using #LoveYourHighStreet. This helps increase visibility for local shopping options and reminds communities of the value independent shops bring to the high street.”

Bira is providing free marketing assets to help businesses promote their participation in the Easter campaign, including printable materials for use in-store and digital graphics for social media and websites.

The Easter campaign also builds momentum towards “Love Your High Street Week”, taking place from November 9 to November 15, which will celebrate independent retail nationwide and include the annual awards.

Andrew added: “By choosing to shop locally this Easter and throughout the year, we can keep our high streets buzzing with life, create a stronger local economy, and ensure small businesses continue to flourish.”
