Stoke-on-Trent-based global tableware and homeware manufacturer Portmeirion Group has appointed Shaun Dubberley as the new managing director for its home fragrance brand, Wax Lyrical.
Shaun brings extensive experience in the FMCG and consumer goods sectors. He has previously held senior roles with major international companies, including Newell Brands and Mattel, and most recently served as group sales director at Hornby Hobbies.
During his career, he has developed high-value partnerships with key retailers such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Aldi, as well as international experience across European and Australian markets.
“Shaun’s impressive background in consumer goods and his exceptional understanding of the UK retail environment make him the ideal leader to drive Wax Lyrical forward”
Portmeirion Group said his strategic focus on brand expansion and his deep-rooted relationships within Wax Lyrical’s core customer base will be instrumental as the business enters its next phase of growth and innovation in the home fragrance category.
Mike Raybould, chief executive officer of Portmeirion Group, commented: “Shaun’s impressive background in consumer goods and his exceptional understanding of the UK retail environment make him the ideal leader to drive Wax Lyrical forward. His experience with major global brands and his passion for delivering commercial excellence will be invaluable in delivering our growth ambition for our home fragrance division.”
The Group also thanked outgoing Wax Lyrical commercial director Peter Cutress for his service over the past three and a half years. During his time with the business, he steered the brand through a period of significant evolution, developing key successful new ranges and listings across major UK retailers.
Shaun has taken up the role with immediate effect.
Based in the heart of the Lake District, Wax Lyrical has been producing candles, reed diffusers, and home fragrance accessories for more than 40 years, drawing inspiration from the surrounding landscape.
