The award-winning UK-based licensee Fanattik has signed a major gift and collectible licence with SEGA for one of the most iconic entertainment characters of all time: Sonic the Hedgehog.
Fanattik managing director Anthony Marks said: “2026 marks the 35th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog, and commemorative product is something that we specialise in here at Fanattik – so the timing is perfect.”
Fanattik is already a licensee for several video game studios, including Bethesda, Microsoft, Capcom, Konami, and Activision Blizzard, among others. Adding SEGA to its portfolio further cements the company’s position as a major player in the video game merchandise sector.
The deal was finalised during Licensing Expo in Las Vegas earlier this year and the products Fanattik will create will be available to gift and toy retailers across Europe, North America, Australasia, and the Middle East.
Product will launch on Fanattik’s stand at both the Toy Fair in London and Spielwarenmesse – the international toy fair in Nuremberg – in early 2026.
