Leathergoods and lifestyle accessories supplier G H Stafford & Son has reported a highly successful outcome from its first independent showroom event, held in Walsall during Spring Fair week.
The four-day event welcomed 29 visiting retailers and generated a 35% increase in turnover compared with the company’s most recent appearance at Spring Fair. The initiative followed a strategic decision to focus on a more relationship-led buying environment rather than exhibiting at the trade show.
Visitors were able to view the company’s full product range in one place, including its Spring/Summer 2026 collections. According to the company, this helped to boost buyer confidence. Attendees’ feedback highlighted the benefit of seeing ranges in person, with several retailers placing orders for products they had previously overlooked when browsing catalogues.
Following the positive response, the company is now reviewing plans to develop the showroom concept further for future seasons. The showroom remains open to retailers year-round by appointment.
