Jewellery and fashion accessories supplier Miss Milly has scooped the gong for Micro Business of the Year at the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce’s Business Awards 2025.

Owner Sarah Watmore said: “We have previously been a finalist for Most Promising New Business. And after a strong period of sustained growth, it felt like the right time to enter these prestigious local awards again. I’m over the moon that our consistency, passion, evolution and success has been formally recognised.”

Judged by representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Luke Elliott from Worcestershire Growth Hub, Sarah was presented with her award on June 12 during the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce’s prestigious Annual Business Awards at the University Arena in Worcester.

The event, sponsored by Herefordshire Council and Worcestershire County Council, brought together a community of more than 700 business professionals for an evening of recognition and celebration.

The judging summary lauded Miss Milly’s remarkable resilience during the Covid pandemic, followed by sustained growth underpinned with a clear business model and a successful marketing strategy.

Micro businesses are defined by HMRC as a company that meets two of the following criteria: up to nine employees, a maximum turnover of £632,000 or a balance sheet of £312,000 or less. There are over 43,000 micro businesses in Herefordshire and Worcestershire, and nationally there are 5.2 million.
