BHETA restructures senior management team

BHETA (British Home Enhancement Trade Association) chief operating officer Will Jones is to step back from the day-to-day running of the association in January 2026, to focus on the delivery of the Exclusively Show as exhibition director.

A new position of general manager has been created at BHETA and this will be filled by Stephen Richardson, who is currently marketing director. Both posts will report to BHETA executive chairman Andrew Weiss.

The role of exhibition director will be to maintain Exclusively’s market leading position through the expansion of the show’s content and initiatives. This will be achieved by harnessing effective support from the show’s management team, consisting of sales, marketing, finance, and operations personnel, plus external liaison with the venue’s senior team.

The new position of general manager will assume responsibility for overseeing and delivering BHETA’s strategy in all market sectors, as well as heading up day-to-day operations in support of all membership activity. With the support of the BHETA sector managers and in-house team, Stephen will spearhead existing and new initiatives in the home and garden marketplace, and drive representation and added value engagement for existing and prospective members in all the sectors that BHETA represents.

Commenting on the new structure, Andrew said: “I’m delighted to announce this new structure, which will help us to continue to meet the requirements of today’s rapidly changing market and provide both the focus and support that is needed to deliver full member engagement.

“It’s excellent news that we will continue to have Will as part of the team. His industry knowledge and experience will be invaluable in supporting BHETA’s drive forward into a new era, and the board and I would like to express thanks for his contribution to getting BHETA to where it is today. I’m confident that under Stephen’s leadership, we will continue to focus on driving added value for all our stakeholders.”

Will added: “It feels like the right time to hand over the BHETA reins. It’s been a wonderful journey, made all the more enjoyable by the support from the BHETA board, the steering committees, and the interaction with members and the wider industry. I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to continue being part of such a focused and talented team, who will continue to develop and deliver relevant initiatives to support members.”
