The Herdy Company has announced that co-founder Diane Hannah is a finalist in the Family Business category of the Enterprise Vision Awards (EVAs). Billed as the UK’s premier business awards for women, the EVAs recognise women who are driving innovation, creating opportunities, and inspiring future generations through their entrepreneurial success.
The nomination acknowledges Diane’s commitment and contributions to The Herdy Company: a Lake District-based family business that has grown from humble beginnings in 2007 into an iconic brand with five shops, two thriving e-commerce websites, and more than 200 trade retail partners throughout the UK and internationally. Herdy’s fun and colourful gift and homeware designs, inspired by the Lake District’s native Herdwick sheep, have captured hearts across the UK and beyond.
“It’s a huge honour to be recognised. Family businesses are at the heart of thriving communities, and this nomination celebrates not just me, but my husband and the entire Herdy team”
Diane said: “It’s a huge honour to be recognised. Family businesses are at the heart of thriving communities, and this nomination celebrates not just me, but my husband and the entire Herdy team, whose dedication, hard work, and creativity have driven our success. I’m looking forward to the awards evening and celebrating the achievements of so many inspiring women in business.”
The awards ceremony will take place on September 26 at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. Herdy is no stranger to recognition, having won the Best Social Impact award at The North West Family Business Awards in 2022. Adding the Family Business award would be a testament to the brand’s continued growth, market diversification, and commitment to its roots in the Lake District.
