New to the market, Òir (pronounced Oar, which means golden in Gaelic) Soaps make beautiful solid alternatives to traditional cosmetics which, most importantly, are not another empty plastic bottle!
All products are handmade in South Queensferry, just outside Edinburgh, using sustainably sourced natural ingredients. Founder Jolene Roberts said: “The colours are clays and charcoals, and the scents are always pure essential oils, plus we never use palm oil in any of our products. And we’re especially proud that our shea butter comes directly from a woman’s co-operative in Ghana – helping the women who make it to lead more independent lives.
“But it’s not just about what we can do to help our impact on the health of the planet. Our products are a real treat to use, and look amazing in any bathroom; they’re bound to be a focal point. The packaging is also gorgeous (and totally plastic-free), so everything is very giftable.”
